Optimism

The world is full of many different types of people. Some like to complain and stir up issues. Yet others will always search for solutions and hold out that better things are to come. These individuals are full of optimism and they can sometimes annoy those that like to wallow in self pity. Yet if you can try to think positive then you can learn to appreciate the things in life you already have. Too many people are always reaching for more when so much is right there in front of them.

It goes back to that timeless question of is the glass half empty or half full. Those that see it as half full are very optimistic. They will take what is there and make it as fulfilling as they possibly can. This is why they can be poor or they aren’t the most educated but they are happy people. They are able to count the blessing in their life and not take them for granted.

Being optimistic is a state of mind that a person chooses to have. You can decide if you are going to look for the good or focus on the negative. The reality of it is that you will find exactly what you are looking for. By this I mean if you are looking for how bad your life is you will find plenty of examples. Yet if you want to look for all of the good and the opportunities that you have you will also find them.

It is important to surround yourself with people in life that are positive. Those with a negative outlook can poison everyone so you need to be careful though. Challenge those you know who are continually unhappy to enjoy the good things that they have to cherish. You can also challenge them by asking them what they want to do to change the situation instead of simply complaining about it.

One of the greatest gifts you can give to a child is optimism. They will learn from example if you show it to them. They will have to learn that life is full of ups and downs but they can always find something to bring them joy. This outlook is going to help them to live a very full and happy life.

Wedding Makeup That Lasts

Wedding Makeup that Lasts

On your big day, you want your wedding makeup to last. Not only that, but you want to look stunning in your photographs. In order to insure that your makeup will last as long as possible, it may be best to hire a professional to take care of it. However, here is some advice to keep in mind even if you do hire a makeup artist.

Use a makeup base. Several cosmetic companies offer products that go on under your eye makeup or lipstick that help your makeup last. Eye makeup base provides a layer that your eyeshadow and eyeliner can adhere to. This prevents creasing and helps the colour stay on longer. They offer similar products for lipstick. However, try to find a lipstick base that is also moisturizing. Some products contain ingredients that dry the lips out. You'll need your lips to stay nice and moist so you can smile all day.

Get rid of extra shine. A shiny face looks even worse in photographs, especially if the photographer uses a flash. After washing your face, apply an oil controlling product. After that absorbs, apply a thin layer of loose powder. Apply foundation and the rest of your makeup as usual. Follow up with another thin layer of loose powder. Carry some pressed powder with you so you can control any shine as the day progresses.

Lasting lipstick. One of the first things to fade is your lipstick. Follow these tips that will help your lipstick last. First, apply a moisturizing lip base. Then, apply lip liner in a shade that is a little darker than your lipstick. Use a soft pencil. Fill the lips in with the pencil. Apply one coat of lipstick and blot gently. Apply another coat of lipstick but this time do not blot. Press a thin layer of facial tissue gently to your lips. Using a large brush, apply a thin layer of pressed powder to the tissue. The tissue acts as a screen, letting in only a small amount of powder. The powder helps the lipstick set and keeps it on longer.

Pack a makeup bag. No matter how hard you try to create a lasting look, you still may need to do some minor touch ups throughout the day. Pack pressed powder, lipstick, mascara, and eyeshadow just in case your colour needs a boost.

Prevent a Cold

Anytime we are unlucky enough to come down with a sniffle or cough, someone always approaches us and shares their words of wisdom on how to prevent a cold. Our mothers were the first ones with scare tactics like, “don’t go outside with wet hair”, or “don’t forget your jacket, you’ll catch a cold”. It didn’t stop us, we did it anyway, and we survived. Now the emphasis is on natural alternatives to prevent a cold, supplements like zinc, Echinacea, vitamin C, and other preparations. Studies have also shown that by eating a nutritional diet, getting plenty of rest, avoiding stress, and exercising regularly can do a lot more for you than getting your body in shape. Living a healthy lifestyle also boosts the immune system and keeps us feeling great. Sure there are times when you are just going to get whatever it is going around, but it won’t happen very often.
If you don’t want to stay healthy and prevent a cold or flu, there other things you can try, because you don’t have to get sick every cold and flu season. For some very practical cold prevention and lifestyle tips, visit www.coldflu.about.com. We’ve all been told that we should eat chicken noodle soup when we have a cold, and when we do, it makes us feel better, doesn’t it? According to this internet source, studies have shown that chicken noodle soup broth contains anti-inflammatory properties that help unblock sinus and chest congestion. No wonder it makes us feel better! Another food that has been shown to prevent a cold is chocolate, which contains a certain ingredient that is more effective in stopping a persistent cough than cough syrups containing codeine.
For more good advice on how to prevent a cold or the flu, check out any number of websites, such as www.webmd.com, www.medicinenet.com, and www.lungusa.org plus many others, that offer practical information like taking a daily multivitamin. For some people, especially older adults and infants, colds can be deadly because they lead to more severe illnesses like pneumonia and RSV. It is also important to wash your hands often, avoid crowds if possible, increase activity levels, exercise more, and get plenty of rest. If you do get a cold, take a hot bath and some extra vitamin C, zinc, and Echinacea, which all will lessen the severity of your discomfort and the decrease the amount of time you are sick. Here’s to your health!

Hallmark Christmas Ornament

For many years people have looked at the Christmas tree as a memory tree. They buy ornaments that have something to do with what has happened in their life during that year so that they can always look at that ornament and remember the event. One of the best ways to do this is to purchase a Hallmark Christmas ornament.
Hallmark has been adding memories to your Christmas tree for more than 30 years. They have even been used in 3-D scrapbooks. A Hallmark Christmas ornament can really commemorate life’s special events. Each year Hallmark unveils new ornaments for you to enjoy and to capture life’s milestones. There are many ways that you can personalize your Hallmark Christmas ornament, such as putting pictures inside a picture frame ornament. There are many different lines of Hallmark ornaments.
The Keepsake Kids line lets your children create their own Christmas traditions. This Hallmark Christmas ornament line is made of fiberboard and wood and lets them recreate traditional holiday scenes, such as a nativity scene or Santa’s workshop. Their size makes them great for children ages five and up. Each wooden Hallmark Christmas ornament is hand painted and come with a storage case.
Another current collection is the Joyful Tidings angels collection. All of the ornaments in this line represent the colors of the holiday season. The angels in this Hallmark Christmas ornament collection each represent a color and its symbolic meaning. You can get a display wreath that will hold all seven angels in the collection.
There are many more lines of ornaments, but no matter what line you choose, an ornament makes a great holiday gift. They show who you are giving it to that you really know them when you pick out a Hallmark Christmas ornament that fits their likes, personality, or your relationship. You can find the perfect ornament for the military man, fisherman, or nurse in your family.
You can acknowledge practically any milestone that may occur in your life. You can find ornaments for your baby’s first Christmas, the child’s age series, you and your partner’s first Christmas together, even ornaments for your new home. Your Hallmark Christmas ornament could have a cool design theme, such as pop culture icons of yesteryear and today. Traditionally, the average consumer is drawn to a Keepsake Ornament that evokes their emotions and feelings.
If you already have a collection, you can purchase an additional ornament to add to it. Maybe you are collecting the Disney ornaments or the Barbie ornaments. Whatever collection you are adding to, you can find the perfect ornament at Hallmark to add to it. You could join the Keepsake Ornament Club. This 19-year-old club lets its members choose their ornaments and enjoy members-only privileges. It only costs $25 to join.

International Travel

International travel opens your mind to the diversity of humanity. Does a foreign vacation seem an impossible dream? It isn't. Come see why.
You need not be rich to engage in international travel. A well-planned itinerary is as close as your computer keyboard. You can find a good airfare if you plan ahead and travel in the so-called “shoulder” seasons, generally in fall and spring. You'll find the cheapest fares in winter. If you're traveling to Italy or Spain, this can be a plus, with mild winter temperatures. If you're really adventurous and footloose, look into courier deals. Airfare on international travel can be free!
Think outside the box when booking accommodations. Whether your trip is for a week or a month, look online for housing for rent on a daily or weekly basis. Rentals may include kitchen equipment, linens, telephone, internet connections and laundry facilities.
Having a kitchen lets you prepare some of your meals yourself. You can save a bundle of money and time just fixing your morning coffee and breakfast before going out sightseeing. Laundry facilities also save time and money. Send email postcards to friends and family with a click of your mouse. More time and money saved, letting you make the most of your vacation time.
Experiencing a different culture is a great adventure. It's the little things that really reach out and grab you. For example, European society is similar in many ways to American society. Yet, daily priorities are different. Food is a much more drawn out event than our eat-and-run habit. Meals are enjoyed slowly, seasoned with the camaraderie of your companions. And it's actually quite safe to go out at night in any major European city!
Try new things! Walk around your neighborhood and discover the bookstore, grocer, hardware, night club or restaurant. Neighborhood businesses reflect the tempo of life in your chosen destination. Jump into the culture, and rejoice!
International travel exposes you to new cuisines. You may never taste an authentic Spanish Paella, empanada, French Pistou or Italian pizza unless you take the leap and immerse yourself in your international travel destination of choice.
Part of the experience of international travel is getting around. Be adventurous! Large cities, such as Paris, have inexpensive and ultra-efficient access to anywhere you want to go.
With today's many restrictions on baggage, plan for only carry-on luggage. You'll avoid lost luggage, and walking and waiting time at the carousel.
You can pack everything you need for a month's stay anywhere in a carry-on. It's easy to find a foreign equivalent of an American drugstore and pick up any toiletries you may need. These items take up space in your luggage and tend to leak under cabin pressure. Shop duty-free shops at the airport for perfumes, colognes and the like.
International travel is a blast! Wherever you've dreamed of traveling, do an “armchair” search. You may find it's within your reach!
